76ers’ Ben Simmons has Sprained AC Joint in Right Shoulder

The Philadelphia 76ers welcomed one star back Wednesday night but lost another.

Ben Simmons did not play in the second half against the Jazz after being diagnosed with what the team called a mild right shoulder sprain. He will be reevaluated Thursday in Denver.

The injury appears to have happened in the first quarter when Simmons collided with Royce O’Neale in the post. Simmons passed the ball back out to the perimeter and then immediately grabbed his shoulder.

He played a total of 10 minutes and finished the game with two points, two assists, one rebound and one steal.

Even with Embiid back from a two-game suspension and with 27 points and 16 rebounds, the Sixers still lost 106-104, their second consecutive loss after starting the season with five straight wins.
