There’s still quite a ways to go until the beginning of the 2019-20 NBA season, but the pressure is still on. Which coaches’ jobs could be in danger this year? Whose seats are heating up?

Now that the month of July is in the rearview mirror, so is the league’s free agency period. Open roster spots have been filled for the most part and the majority of organizations have a solid idea of what they want to accomplish in the upcoming season. With that being said, not all questions have been answered.

Every year, rumors centered around head coaches being placed on the proverbial “hot seat” surface. Largely based upon underperformance, the average lifespan of an NBA coach is shorter than that of any coach in North America’s four major sports. Regardless of circumstance, there is constant pressure to win games in the National Basketball Association.

Heading into this season, there are multiple coaches seeing their seats warm up. Some are veterans who simply aren’t winning enough anymore. Others are newbies who have been placed in tough situations. Here are five coaches who should be looking over their shoulders should things go south over the next year.
