On the brink of elimination, here are three takeaways for the Philadelphia 76ers following their season-saving Game 6 win.

Right from the outset of Game 6, it was clear the Philadelphia 76ers were not going to let their 2018-19 campaign conclude without putting up a significant fight."}” data-ad-type=”connatix_inline_nba__desktop__tablet” data-ad-vendor=”connatix”/>

With their season on the line, the Sixers were a completely different outfit than the one that was trounced by 36 points in Game 5. In defeating the Toronto Raptors 112-101 Thursday night, the Sixers have set up a decisive Game 7 in Toronto on Sunday.

Once again, Jimmy Butler led the Sixers in scoring with 25 points, while Ben Simmons rebounded from his seven-point performance in Game 5 to add 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. In all, the Sixers had six players score in double figures, with the Raptors having just three, led by Kawhi Leonard‘s 29 points.

Having been out-rebounded 42-37 in Game 5, the Sixers made amends by crashing the glass for a significant 52-34 advantage, including 16 boards on the offensive end.

With each team now clearly familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of their opposition, it sets the scene for a fascinating Game 7 — the first for the Sixers since 2012 when they fell to the Boston Celtics in the second round.
