Rockets-Thunder trend under and today’s NBA odds and best bets
With only two more days left in the NBA regular season, there are still some games left with playoff implications.
Last night the Nets secured their spot in the postseason, while the Celtics clinched home court advantage for their first round matchup. In the East three teams are fighting for the final playoff spot while in the West teams like the Rockets and Thunder are battling for playoff seeding. We’re here to bring you the must-read betting notes from around the NBA to help you crack the odds.
Giving the Hornets a spark off the bench
The Hornets travel to Cleveland as 8.5-point favorites. The Hornets have won seven of their last 10 games, but have struggled versus the Cavaliers winning only twice in their last 12 games.
Charlotte’s Jeremy Lamb has been efficient in all three meetings this season versus Cleveland logging 19 points and eight boards in the first game, 22 points in the second meeting, and 18 points and 12 boards in the most recent contest. Look for similar numbers on the offensive end today and back Over his points total of 14.5.
Bam Bam Big down low
Miami has won 20 of its most recent 25 games at home versus Philadelphia and is a 5-point favorite today. The 76ers will be without JJ Redick and Joel Embiid, while the Heat will be without Josh Richardson for the third straight game due to a groin injury.
The 76ers have struggled in the paint giving up an average of 51 points per game. This number might be even higher without Joel Embiid. Look for Miami’s Bam Adebayo to dominate the glass and continue to be aggressive down low. Bet Over his points, rebounds, assists total of 22.5.
The Bulls and Knicks rank in the bottom three in first-quarter points per game. These numbers have been even lower over their most recent two games with Chicago averaging 21.7 ppg, and New York 23.7 ppg over their most recent three games.
Neither team have gotten out to quick starts all year, and with the rosters these two teams are putting together to close out the season, it doesn’t look like things are going to change. Back the first quarter game total Under 56.5.
The Rockets and Thunder are battling for playoff positioning in the West and Houston is a 2-point road favorite for their meeting tonight. The Thunder have won two of the most recent three meetings in the head-to-head by an average score of 108-101. The Under has been a good play when these two meet up cashing in six of the last eight.
The Under has hit in six of the Rockets last nine on the road, and 13 of 19 games overall. For the Thunder, eight of their last 12 at home have gone Under the total. In a game with important playoff seeding for both sides, look for a lower scoring game and back the Under 231.
McGee Mr. Efficient
The Blazers are 9.5-point road favorites as they take on the Lakers. Portland has won nine of its last 10 games in the head-to-head at Staples Center.
The Lakers’ JaVale McGee has played well versus the Blazers in all three meetings, shooting 5 of 6 from the floor with eight boards through 21 minutes, 6 of 8 with nine boards, and most recently 9 of 12. He has been playing well over the most recent two games scoring 18 and 22 points and should be able to find success once again today. Back Over his points total of 15.5.
